The HardWire V-10 Power Block features 10 totally isolated high-current outputs and a shielded low-stray-field toroidal transformer to eliminate hum and noise that can be caused by ground loops and interference. It includes four 9-volt outputs, along with two pairs of 9V/12V merge-able outputs for power-hungry digital pedals, and two outputs with variable voltage.

Built road-tough with a heavy-grade aircraft aluminum chassis the HardWire V-10 allows for maximum heat dissipation. With its compact size, the V-10 mounts perfectly under Pedaltrain™ pedalboards. It utilizes standard 2.1 x 5.5mm barrel jack connectors and delivers 1200mA total DC current. The V-10’s front-panel LEDs provide ready indication of output jack status. The V-10 comes with 17 DC power cables, 3.5mm phone plugs and 9V battery clip.

“We constantly hear from guitarists that a high quality power supply is essential and we built the V-10 Power Block to provide the same performance and reliability that our pedals are known for,” stated Scott Klimt, marketing manager for DigiTech.

The DigiTech HardWire V-10 Power Block carries a six-year warranty and has a suggested retail price of $299.95.

"God of the Small Strings" Indian Guitarist Baiju Dharmajan Relies On DigiTech for His Signature Sounds

KOCHI, India – Baiju Dharmajan is one of India’s most celebrated guitarists. Known as “God of the Small Strings” to his fans, Dharmajan has been voted India’s best guitarist [at the Jack Daniels Rock Awards for two years in a row in 2008 and 2009] and was a long-time member of legendary Indian rock band Motherjane before launching his solo career and releasing his first solo album The Crossover in 2012 on the Cochym record label. Strongly influenced by Carnatic music, Indian artists K.J. Yesudas, Ilaiyaraaja, Raveendram and G. Devarajan and guitar heroes like Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck, Dharmajan is known for his extended, Carnatic-inspired guitar solos – and his long-time use of HARMAN’s DigiTech pedals.

“For the last 30 years I’ve been playing, DigiTech pedals have always been my first choice, to the point where it’s hard for me to think about using any other brand,” said Dharmajan. His current pedalboard includes the DigiTech Main Squeeze compressor, Hardwire Tube Overdrive, Harmony Man intelligent pitch shifter, Whammy™ pitch shift pedal and a JamMan™ Looper.

For Dharmajan, DigiTech effects aren’t add-ons – they’re fundamental to his sound, whether on the iconic Motherjane album Maktub, voted 2009 Album of the Year by Rolling Stone India or his versions of the Indian national anthem “Jana Gana Mana” and the popular song “Mile Sur Mera Tamara” promoting national integration and unity in diversity. “One of the questions I get asked most often is how I am able to produce a certain sound or tone. I always tell young guitarists that it has a whole lot to do with the combinations of pedals that you use,” added Dharmajan.

“My DigiTech pedals have played a pivotal role in the tones you hear in my solo album The Crossover and in many Motherjane songs. I should also point out that from a practical standpoint the pedals have helped me greatly at live concerts because they are able to drive a whole gamut of amps very effectively,” Dharmajan noted.

As an artist who has helped define the sound of Indian rock guitar, Dharmajan continues to innovate, blending Indian and Western musical influences in his band Baiju Dharmajan Syndicate, in the group Kashmir co-founded with Santee Thomas, in experimental jazz-fusion band Karnatriix and in collaborations with artists like Susmit Sen of Indian Ocean and electronica act Midival Punditz.

“DigiTech pedals have always been trustworthy, effective and affordable,” said Dharmajan. “They continue to power up my musical dreams.”

The Most Compact and Simple JamMan Pedal Ever: DigiTech Introduces The JamMan Express XT Compact Stereo Looper

FRANKFURT, Germany – Since the introduction of its first JamMan, HARMAN’s DigiTech has set the standard in looping pedals. With the introduction of JamMan Express XT Compact Stereo Looper/Phrase Sampler, DigiTech makes high-quality looping more affordable than ever at an unprecedented price of $149.95. Though it’s the size of a standard stompbox, JamMan Express XT offers a host of capabilities including up to 10 minutes of stereo looping time and DigiTech’s exclusive JamSync feature for synchronizing multiple JamMan pedals.

“Our JamMan Express XT brings the expressive possibilities of looping to more musicians than ever before,” said Scott Klimt, marketing manager, DigiTech. “Whether you want to record loops and rhythm tracks for playing along with, create sonic backgrounds for solo or band performances or sample loops and phrases to drop into your recordings, the JamMan Express XT is the most user-friendly and compact looping pedal on the market today.”

The JamMan Express XT is ideal for use with guitar, bass, keyboards and other instruments. It provides up to 10 minutes of stereo looping time. Its control layout is simple yet incredibly versatile – a single pedal switch, three Record, Dub and Play LEDs and a Loop Level knob provide access to a multitude of looping functions.

All loop recording, playback and loop overdubbing can be controlled simply by clicking on the pedal switch. The three LEDs indicate looping and phrase sampling status – red for record, green for playback and yellow for overdubbing. This simple but effective looping scheme has been standard on single-button JamMan loopers for years to create lush, richly textured loops or multiple instrumental parts for a one-person-band backing track.

The JamMan Express XT provides an Auto Record function that arms the pedal for recording – just start playing and JamMan Express XT will automatically start recording a loop.

The pedal’s JamSync feature enables the JamMan Express XT to be synchronized with other JamSync-enabled pedals to create multi-track loops or play loops with other musicians. Simply connect the pedals via their 1/8-inch mini jacks. Multiple JamMan pedals can be cascaded together with one JamMan acting as a master for all synched slaves.

The JamMan Express XT can be operated using a 9-volt battery or its included power supply. Measuring just 4.4 x 2.3 x 1.8 inches, the JamMan Express XT fits easily on any pedalboard and its rugged metal case is built to take the rigors of the road.

The DigiTech JamMan Express XT will be available in August 2013 at a suggested retail price of $149.95.

DigiTech Pedals Can Take Everything The Spits' Sean Wood Can Dish Out

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Loud, noisy and dirty punk for the people – that’s the Spits for you. No here today, gone tomorrow punk band, the Spits and guitarist Sean Wood have been dishing out their sonic mayhem since 2000, with six albums and 15 singles under their belts. Through it all, Wood has done his best to abuse HARMAN’S DigiTech pedals, with no end in sight.

Wood started playing 18 years ago in Kalamazoo, Michigan and soon moved to Seattle, playing music for fun with the guys in the band who eventually became the Spits. “We weren’t pleased by most of the bands out there at the time. We wanted to be original and powerful,” explained Wood. Tours with Marky Ramone, King Khan and the Shrines, NOFX, Rocket from the Crypt and others followed and today, Spits continues to excite – and pummel – their audiences with their frenzied, yet wilfully controlled and crafted sound.

The Spits have used DigiTech gear on every one of their past and present projects and tours. From the PDS 3000 and 8000 delay pedals to the Metal Master distortion pedal. For the current tour they’re using two Vocalist Live 5 vocal harmony processors, a JamMan Solo looper pedal and the iStomp programmable pedal.

“The Vocalist Live 5 has been especially useful on the road. As a touring band we have to deal with different venues, PA systems and sound engineers and it’s nice to always have your vocals the way you want them! The Vocalist Live 5 is the best – it has so many vocal ranges and effects to choose from. And like all the DigiTech pedals we’ve used, it’s very tough, which is important when you’re pounding on your gear without mercy night after night,” stated Wood.

“We use the JamMan Solo with our keyboards. It helps us to create compelling intros and outros –it’s just ideally suited for live performance.” Wood has recently discovered the usefulness and convenience of the iStomp. “Instead of bringing six pedals to the studio or the stage I can bring one, and get pretty much any sound I want – I love it.”

The Spits continue on their unconventional path as they finish up their new four-song EP…sung entirely in German. The Spits are also working on a new album, due in 2013 and as if that weren’t enough, they’re are working on a cable TV show called “Chucky and the Spits.”

“I need pedals that are tough as steel, practical and sound great,” Wood concluded. “DigiTech pedals have all of these qualities.”

Reinhardt Dias of Indian Band Blakc Leans On HARMAN’s DigiTech Whammy Pedal for Epic Sounds

MUMBAI, India – Blakc is a rock band from Mumbai, India whose name alone indicates it’s a little on the unconventional side. “Since we began Blakc has been unable to fit into any genres, and we’ve stopped trying to and simply stick to making music we love,” said guitarist and HARMAN DigiTech Whammy user Reinhardt Dias.

Combining elements of rock, alternative, progressive and grunge with an international feel, Blakc formed almost on a whim as college friends who decided to enter an on-campus music competition after a week of rehearsals.

Reinhardt’s guitar tones run the spectrum from clean arpeggios to crunching rhythms, heavily distorted leads and beyond. “The DigiTech Whammy just kills on my rig,” said Reinhardt. “I can get extremely experimental with it, and it gives me a broad spectrum of soundscapes. I can play a note, use the Dive Bomb setting and get such a deep low end that it makes my guitar sound like some kind of dubstep synthesizer rather than a guitar! Or, I can go so high up with a note that my guitar sounds like a very angry screaming cat.”

Blakc released its debut album Choking On A Dream in 2008 and has persistently kept building its following, graduating from college favorites to national touring act. The band has played shows in 14 cities across India to date and dreams of an international breakout on the strength of its new album MotheredLand.

For Reinhardt the Whammy’s drop tune capability does so much more than just alter the pitch of the notes. “It gives the notes I’m playing a kind of ‘tingling’ sound that I can’t get anywhere else. I also really like the pedal’s Harmony settings – I add just a little delay to the Harmony effects and the notes sound epic.”

“Blakc has always been about two things – the music and the people we play for,” Reinhardt concluded. “We believe that our music is an extension of our personalities – and the Whammy is an extension of my personality”

HARMAN (www.HARMAN.com) designs, manufactures and markets a wide range of audio and infotainment solutions for the automotive, consumer and professional markets — supported by 15 leading brands, including AKG®, Harman Kardon®, Infinity®, JBL®, Lexicon® and Mark Levinson®.
DigiTech Teams Up With Adrian Belew to Bring You The Impossible Pedal for the iStomp

ANAHEIM, California – At NAMM 2013, DigiTech is proud to announce its first in a line of iStomp Signature Artist e-pedals, joining forces with guitarist extraordinaire Adrian Belew to debut The Impossible Pedal. The e-pedal lives up to its name, giving guitarists the ability to play impossible guitar riffs that you would never think to play.

Adrian Belew needs little introduction as a beyond-cutting-edge musician who has smashed sonic boundaries with artists including David Bowie, King Crimson, Talking Heads, Frank Zappa, Nine Inch Nails and others, and over a diverse solo career spanning nearly 20 solo albums. The cries, grunts, squeals, industrial noises, twang-bar-king whammy effects and other otherworldly sounds he can coax out of his instrument make him one of the world’s most uncategorizable guitarists.

Available exclusively as an e-pedal for the iStomp, The Impossible Pedal uses two pitch shifters that can be turned on and off in sequence, and guitarists can abruptly “jump” between two intervals by stepping on the iStomp footswitch as they play. “I have been using the DigiTech HarmonyMan for years to create this unique effect,” said Belew. “With The Impossible Pedal in my iStomp I can now do things I never could before!”

Two knobs on The Impossible Pedal set the two different pitch intervals and two knobs select whether the pitches shift up or down over a two octave range. By stepping on the footswitch, the note played by the guitarist alternates between the standard (unaffected) pitch and the two pitch-shifted voices, to create melodic passages that extend beyond physical human ability. Even its iStomp icon is an impossible optical illusion that has to be seen to be disbelieved.

“Adrian Belew is a fearless innovator and his e-pedal ideas for the iStomp are a perfect match for our vision,” noted DigiTech Artist Relations Manager Tom Cram.

The DigiTech iStomp is a new concept in guitar stompboxes that allows musicians to turn the iStomp into any pedal available in the Stomp Shop online pedal store. Offering almost limitless sonic possibilities, the iStomp connects to an Apple® IOS device where musicians can use the free Stomp Shop app to load it with the e-pedal of their choice. The Stomp Shop app comes with ten of the most popular pedals and gives access to more than 40 additional e-pedals they can browse, try out and purchase. More e-pedals are added on a regular basis.

At NAMM, DigiTech will be giving away six special edition silver and blue iStomp pedals signed by Belew as part of a Facebook sweepstakes that is taking place during the show. Please visit DigiTech at the Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, CA Booth #211B.

The DigiTech The Impossible Pedal e-pedal will be made available at the beginning of NAMM at a suggested retail price of $19.99. The DigiTech iStomp is currently available at $229.95 suggested retail.

DigiTech New Dirty Robot Synth Pedal for the iStomp™ Offers Sub-Harmonic and Filter Synthesis

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – HARMAN’s DigiTech today announced the introduction of its Dirty Robot e-pedal for its iStomp programmable pedal. The Dirty Robot transforms the sound of a guitar with sub-harmonic and filter synthesis, providing low-end sub-octave and synth-like filter sweeps.

“The Dirty Robot gives guitarists the ability to modify their sound with a wide range of filter synthesis effects that go far beyond the capability of a standard ‘auto wah’-type envelope filter,” said Scott Klimt, marketing manager for DigiTech. “It also enables the player to mix the effected signal with the dry signal to get sounds that range from subtle to outrageously funky.”

The DigiTech Dirty Robot’s Mix, Filter, Envelope and Trigger controls offer enable total control of the pedal’s guitar synth capabilities. The Mix knob blends dry signal with the synth effect. Filter controls the amount of waveform synthesis that is added to the sub-octave signal. The Envelope knob selects the type of filter sweep with both Rise and Fall options and variable time ranges, to create long filter sweeps, classic auto wah sounds, “reverse wah” and more. Trigger controls the envelope sweep sensitivity, for touch-sensitive control of how the effect triggers – the harder the player picks, the more the filter kicks in.

The DigiTech iStomp is a new concept in guitar stompboxes that allows musicians to turn the iStomp into any pedal in the Stomp Shop online pedal store.
Get Your Freq On: HARMAN’s DigiTech Debuts Its 3Q Three-Band EQ E-Pedal for the iStomp

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – HARMAN’s DigiTech continues to expand its rave-reviewed iStomp e-pedal lineup with the introduction of its 3Q three-band EQ e-pedal. The 3Q gives guitarists and musicians three frequency bands of adjustable passive and active equalization for wide-ranging tone shaping.

“An equalizer can be one of the most useful sonic tools in a guitar player’s arsenal,” said Scott Klimt, marketing manager, DigiTech. “Among its many uses our 3Q e-pedal lets beef up the sound of single-coil pickups, add some extra midrange to make your guitar solos ‘cut’ through the mix, or provide further control over the tone of distortion and overdrive pedals.”

The 3Q features only 4 controls making it extremely easy to use. The Bass and Treble knobs are fixed-frequency boost/cut controls that are used to increase or decrease the low and high frequencies by +/- 12dB. The Mid Freq knob employs semi-parametric EQ with a sweepable frequency range of 500Hz – 3kHz while the Mid knob provides +/- 12dB of boost or cut for precise midrange tailoring.

The DigiTech iStomp is a new concept in guitar stompboxes that allows musicians to turn the iStomp into any pedal in the Stomp Shop online pedal store. Offering almost limitless sonic possibilities, the iStomp connects to an Apple iOS device where musicians can use the Stomp Shop app to load it with the e-pedal of their choice. The Stomp Shop is a free app and comes with two of the most popular requested pedals, the DigiTech Total Recall Delay™ and the DigiTech Redline Overdrive™. It gives access to more than 40 additional pedals that musicians can browse, try out and purchase, with more pedals added every month.

The DigiTech 3Q e-pedal will be available immediately at an introductory price of $0.99. This introductory price will run for four weeks. After the introductory period the price will change to the regular price of $4.99

DigiTech iPB-10 Progammable Pedal Board and iStomp Downloadable Stompbox Recognized by Guitar Player Magazine's Inaugural Hall of Fame Awards

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – HARMAN’s DigiTech iPB-10 and DigiTech iStomp have been bestowed with the honor of Guitar Player’s Inaugural Hall of Fame Awards. As part of its 45th anniversary the magazine has merged its various awards under the Guitar Player Hall of Fame. Both products were recognized in the innovative product category, which “recognizes gear that has significantly upped the technological, conceptual, and practical ante the past year.” The Guitar Player staff chooses all Hall of Fame award winners.

“We are truly grateful for Guitar Player’s recognition of DigiTech in their Innovative Product category,” stated Scott Klimt, marketing manager for DigiTech. “When we created the iPB-10 and iStomp we not only created new product categories but we also changed the way guitarists created their tone. Both these products have led the way in a new era of pedal flexibility and functionality. The Guitar Player Hall of Fame Awards underscore our commitment to continue our path of developing innovative guitar effects that bring players the opportunity for new levels of creativity and expression.”

The iPB-10 is the world’s first programmable pedalboard which uses the Apple iPad®. By harnessing the power of the iPad, the iPB-10 combines the simplicity of a pedalboard with the flexibility of a multi-effect system. The iStomp is an entirely new concept in guitar stompboxes that allows musicians to program the effect pedal with any sound they want – and change it at any time. Offering almost limitless sonic possibilities, the iStomp connects to an iPod Touch®, iPhone®, or iPad® enabling musicians to load the effect of their choice into the iStomp.

The Guitar Player Magazine Inaugural Hall of Fame Award Winners are included as part of the November 2012 issue.

DigiTech Doubles Your Pleasure With the Red Coral Dual Detune E-Pedal for the iStomp

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – HARMAN’s DigiTech today announced the introduction of its Red Coral Dual Detune e-pedal for its iStomp programmable pedal. The Red Coral adds a choice of one or two slightly pitch-shifted signals to the original, to “double” or beef up the sound of a guitar, bass, keyboard or other instruments.

“Known as automatic double tracking or ADT, mixing a delay with an original signal is one of the classic recording studio techniques for making a guitar or instrumental part sound ‘bigger’ or making a single guitar sound like two guitars playing at once,” said Scott Klimt, marketing manager for DigiTech. “Our Red Coral now makes this automatic double tracking studio effect available to musicians everywhere in an easy to use pedal.”

The DigiTech Red Coral offers a detuning effect that’s similar to a chorus pedal in that it adds a pitch-shifted signal to the original. However, the pitch shift doesn’t modulate like the regular slow or fast cycling of a chorus pedal – the amount of pitch shift stays the same. The resulting effect sounds like two guitarists playing at the same time.

The Red Coral Dual Detune offers two independent voices each capable of plus or minus 24 cents of pitch shift, to produce anything from extremely subtle to lush detuning and double tracking effects. Each of the voices has an independent level control so that when the pedal is used in stereo one channel can be detuned while the other channel remains unaffected.

The DigiTech Red Coral Dual Detune e-pedal will be available in November 2012 at an introductory price of $0.99. This introductory price will run for one month. After the introductory period the price will change to $6.99.

The DigiTech iStomp is currently available at $229.95 suggested retail.

DigiTech Shifts Into High Gear with the Debut of its Swing Shift e-pedal for the iStomp

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – HARMAN DigiTech’s is going full throttle with the introduction of its Swing Shift quad-pitch-shift e-pedal for its iStomp programmable pedal. Swing Shift provides a four-voice pitch shift effect, letting guitarists mix Octave Down, Fifth Down, Octave Up and Fifth Up voices with their original note to create massive harmonized chords, riffs and solos.

“Sometimes guitarists want an effect that’s subtle – and sometimes they want something completely over the top,” said Scott Klimt, marketing manager for DigiTech. “Our Swing Shift lets them have it either way – it can add a hint of an upper or lower octave or perfect fifth to the original signal, or use all four intervals and generate a huge pipe organ-like sound.”

The DigiTech Swing Shift four knobs let users mix in any amount of octave down, fifth down, octave up and fifth up, individually or in any combination. By adding an overdrive or distortion pedal after the Swing Shift, guitarists can create huge-sounding power chords and polyphonic riffs.

The DigiTech iStomp is an entirely new concept in guitar stompboxes that allows musicians to turn the iStomp into any pedal in the Stomp Shop online pedal store.
DigiTech Introduces Magic Fingers Vibrato for the iStomp Programmable Pedal

October 15, 2012 – For Immediate Release

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Vibrato is one of the most identifiable guitar effects, and HARMAN’s DigiTech gives it a new voice with the introduction of the Magic Fingers Vibrato for its iStomp programmable pedal. Magic Fingers takes a guitar signal and modulates its pitch slightly, giving it an animated “vocal” quality. But that’s just the beginning – the e-pedal offers unique stereo panning and chorusing effects, to create new sounds unavailable anywhere else.

“Our Magic Fingers Vibrato gives guitarists a wide range of traditional and never-before-heard stereo vibrato and chorus sounds,” said Scott Klimt, marketing manager for DigiTech. “Magic Fingers gives vibrato and chorus a pulsing, moving, spatial quality that can literally add another dimension to live performances and studio tracks.”

Magic Fingers can modulate the pitch of a guitar to give it that classic warbling sound that can add tons of personality to a rhythm track or make a lead guitar stand out. The SPREAD control changes the modulation from being synchronized in both of the pedal’s outputs to moving from left to right in the sound field, to create dramatic stereo spatial effects. The e-pedal’s MIX control enables the player to mix the dry signal back in with the effected signal to produce some of the most lush chorusing ever heard from a stompbox. SPEED and DEPTH controls let guitarists tailor the speed of the effect from a slow sweep to a frantic warble and from subtle pitch variation to an up-and-down sonic roller coaster.

The Magic Fingers’ Tap Tempo feature lets players synchronize the speed of the vibrato or the panning with the beat of the music. Tap Tempo is enabled by holding down the footswitch until the indicator LED begins to flash. While Tap Tempo is active the player can use the SPEED knob to adjust the ratio of the tap interval to create faster speeds.

The DigiTech iStomp is an entirely new concept in guitar stompboxes that allows musicians to turn the iStomp into any pedal in the Stomp Shop online pedal store. The Tone Boost offers two boost options – a straight clean boost and an adjustable boost for a specific frequency range.

“Our Tone Boost is an extremely useful live and studio performance tool,” said Scott Klimt, DigiTech Marketing Manager. “Sometimes guitarists just want a straight volume boost. But if they want to enhance a specific frequency, for example, like Eric Clapton with his favored 500Hz midrange boost or Brian May using his 3kHz treble booster, the Tone Boost lets users dial in the specific EQ to achieve the exact tone they want.”

The DigiTech Tone Boost offers up to 20dB of clean boost and 20dB of frequency-specific boost. The BOOST knob provides a straight-head clean boost. For frequency-specific tone shaping, the FREQUENCY control lets players select the frequency they want to emphasize and the WIDTH knob adjusts the frequency bandwidth, from a narrow range to a wider frequency spectrum. The EQ BOOST control gives an additional 20dB of boost, and the BOOST and EQ BOOST controls can be used together if desired. The Tone Boost offers true stereo operation, for use in stereo pedalboard setups and with two amplifiers.

The DigiTech iStomp is an entirely new concept in guitar stompboxes that allows musicians to turn the iStomp into any pedal in the Stomp Shop online pedal store. It gives access to more than 30 additional pedals that musicians can browse, try out and purchase, with more pedals added every month.

The DigiTech Tone Boost e-pedal will be available in October 2012 at an introductory price of $0.99. This introductory price will run for the next 30 days. After the introductory period the price will change to $9.99.

The DigiTech iStomp is currently available at $149.95 suggested retail.

“Guitarist’s Guitarist” Johnny Hiland Discovers HARMAN’s DigiTech Hardwire Pedals

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Guitarist Johnny Hiland stands out for his prodigious technique, blazing speed and seemingly boundless musical creativity. Recently Hiland, who is equally adept at playing pop, blues and rock, discovered HARMAN’s DigiTech Hardwire pedals and is consistently playing with many of the pedals from the line. Hiland has played with artists as diverse as Toby Keith, Ricky Skaggs, Janie Fricke, Hank Williams III, Sammy Hagar, George Clinton and P-Funk and more. In 2011, Hiland signed with Shrapnel Records and has a new album now available titiled All Fired Up.

Hiland has been touring extensively over the past several months and explains there is a lot to like about the Hardwire pedals. “I am constantly striving to improve my sound and find gear that lets me express what I want to say musically. I have recently discovered DigiTech Hardwire pedals, and I have to say I am in love with their tone and craftsmanship,” stated Hiland.

Hiland is using the Hardwire DL-8 Delay Looper pedal, SC-2 Valve Distortion, RV-7 Stereo Reverb and HT-6 PolyChromatic Tuner. “I use the DL-8 on two of my pedalboards so I can have a great range of delays no matter where I might be performing, live and in the studio. The RV-7 Stereo Reverb is now a ‘must have’ for me. It contains some of the best Lexicon reverbs, and it is smoking hot! It’s really remarkable how they’ve managed to incorporate many of the great Lexicon studio reverbs I’ve used over the years into a pedal I can carry anywhere.”

“I know there are a lot of cool effects pedals out there and that every guitar player is hunting for that right tone to suit their rig. It takes the right combination to make it all work just right. I, however, have fallen in love with Hardwire. I’ve found that they pack a killer tone in every pedal they make. Overdrive is one of the most important effects a guitarist needs, and the Hardwire SC-2 gives me a great range of mild breakup to crunchy rhythm and lead sounds that can sing or sting," added Hiland.

In selecting the right gear, Hiland explains that he looks for pedals and products that offer three things. “First, the gear has to sound great. If it doesn’t do that, we don’t get to step two. Next, it has to be tough, roadworthy and built to last. When you have a tour schedule like mine where you have to set up and take down night after night, your gear can take a pounding. Thirdly, the price has to be right,” stated Hiland.

“I’ve had a lot of experience with DigiTech, Hardwire’s parent company, over the last 10 years,” notes Hiland. “I have used everything from the original RP-1 multi-effects unit and have owned a ton of DigiTech products over the years. The Hardwire pedals are the best ever for me.”

A New Perspective In Digital Delay: HARMAN’s DigiTech Introduces the Vanishing Point Modulated Delay e-pedal for the iStomp™ Downloadable Pedal

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – HARMAN’s DigiTech is kicking off its October e-pedal introductions with the debut of its Vanishing Point Modulated Delay for the iStomp downloadable stompbox. Vanishing Point gives guitarists the sound of high-end rack delays that lightly modulate the sound of the repeats after they delay – along with a host of additional sonic possibilitites.

“Many guitarists run a chorus pedal after their delay to add that rich, textured ‘swirl’ to their sound,” said Rob Urry, vice president, HARMAN Professional Division and general manager of Signal Processing and Amplifier Business Units. “However, the Vanishing Point is much more controllable in that only the delay repeats are modulated while the dry sound is untouched. This seemingly subtle feature makes a big difference in the ability to control the expressiveness of both clean and overdriven sounds when playing single notes and chords.”

The Vanishing Point Modulated Delay can add shimmer to clean chordal work or a touch of animation to overdriven guitar solos. Vanishing Point can provide up to two seconds of true stereo delay, and its Tap Tempo feature enables the musician to tap the footswitch to sync the delay speed with the tempo of the music. Vanishing Point offers controls for Delay (delay time), Repeats (number of repeats), Mod (degree of modulation) and Level (effect level).

Josh Lattanzi Draws A Multiplicity of Sounds From HARMAN’s DigiTech JamMan Solo On Norah Jones’ Little Broken Hearts Tour

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Bassist Josh Lattanzi depends on HARMAN’s DigiTech JamMan Solo for world-famous singer/songwriter Norah Jones’ current world tour in support of her latest release, Little Broken Hearts—a sonic and emotional change from previous albums with its moodier songs and more expansive and textured sounds. Lattanzi is a multi-instrumentalist who can also be seen playing acoustic and electric guitar, lap steel guitar and piano during the current tour.

“It’s a challenge to reproduce the sounds of the album live,” said Lattanzi “The music takes something of a different approach, and there are some really beautiful and unusual tones on Little Broken Hearts. I need to use a variety of instruments and pedals on stage—especially the DigiTech JamMan Solo—to convey the feel of the record.”

“The JamMan Solo is a really great pedal—its playback sounds fantastic, it couldn’t be easier to use and its build quality is top-notch. It allows me to create really interesting sonic textures and atmospheres,” added Lattanzi.

When it comes to choosing pedals, Lattanzi knows what he wants. “I mainly look for gear that sounds great. This might sound simple but I’m really picky so it sometimes takes a lot of looking around for me to find the right pieces of gear.”

Count Lattanzi among the many pro guitarists who find the DigiTech Whammy an indispensable part of their gear. “I had one of the first Whammy pedals when it originally came out and I’m excited that DigiTech still makes Whammy pedals that have all the pitch-shifting and expressive sounds of my original,” Lattanzi added. “The Whammy is one of the most unique pedals ever developed.”

“The songs from Little Broken Hearts continue Norah’s evolution as an artist over the course of her five albums,” Lattanzi noted. “If you listen to her albums in sequence it seems like a natural place to have gone stylistically. If you listen to her first album and the last there’s definitely more of a sonic contrast.”

“The show is a mix of songs from all of Norah’s records, which really keeps things interesting for Norah, the audience and the band,” Lattanzi concluded. “The JamMan Solo and Whammy play a big part in adding sonic variety to the songs and making what I’m playing complement the music.”

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – HARMAN’s DigiTech Stomp-tember reaches new heights with the introduction of its Angelic Choir e-pedal for the iStomp downloadable stompbox. Based on a Lexicon® Hall reverb, Angelic Choir offers cascading octave pitch shifting and creates an ethereal synthesizer-like effect for guitar.

“The Angelic Choir is a truly unique effect for creating rich, ambient and beautifully immersive guitar sounds,” said Rob Urry, vice president, HARMAN Professional Division and general manager of Signal Processing and Amplifier Business Units. “It’s especially effective when used with clean guitar chords and offers a host of sonic and textural variations for musicians seeking out of the ordinary sounds.”

The Angelic Choir uses proprietary Harman-developed DSP algorithms that process the input from a guitar to generate a totally unique ambience effect unavailable from any other effects pedal. The e-pedal’s Voices knob adjusts from a single “voice” to an entire choir or anything in between. A guitarist can use his or her volume knob or volume pedal to produce enthralling volume swells.

DigiTech Redefines Looping Possibilities With Introduction of JamMan Solo XT

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – HARMAN’s DigiTech today introduced the new JamMan Solo XT looper, featuring true stereo looping and an array of new features including JamSync, Dial-In BPMs, Micro SD interface and selectable stop modes, all in a single, compact stompbox form factor.

The JamMan Solo XT features a unique pedal-linking capability called JamSync. For multi-phrase looping, a guitarist can link together two JamMan Solo XTs and record different length phrases in each while staying in perfect sync. Link together three JamMans and the JamSync will provide three synced phrases, and so on. Loopers can now use as many phrases as they need to create intricate loop layering. Bands can now use looping by linking together individual looper pedals and having each member control their own loop contributions giving the looping market a whole new meaning.

The pedal’s Auto Record feature makes recording a loop easier. Simply arm the JamMan for record and it waits for you to start playing before recording begins, giving you a precise loop start point every time.

“DigiTech’s long history of supercharging looping capabilities continues with the newest version of the JamMan. We are offering virtually unlimited possibilities for loops through the external memory card functionality. Pedals like the JamMan Solo XT give the individual player the power to expand their sonic palette beyond what was previously possible,” stated Rob Urry, vice president, HARMAN Professional Division and general manager of Signal Processing and Amplifier Business Units.

The looper features a USB port, metronome with multiple rhythm sounds, time signatures and hands-free functionality. Powered by DigiTech’s free JamManager XT software a guitarist can organize and save loops to a PC or Mac, create JamLists and have them available anytime for fast recall.

The JamMan Solo XT will be available in October 2012 with an MSRP of $309.95.

DigiTech Announces the Freeze Wah Fixed-Position Wah Effect for the iStomp™ Downloadable Pedal

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – HARMAN’s DigiTech’s “Stomp-tember” continues with the introduction of its DigiTech Freeze Wah, an e-pedal that gives guitarists the distinctive tone of a wah wah pedal kept in a fixed position. The Freeze Wah re-creates this effect without having to keep the pedal of a standard wah wah pedal in one place.

“The ‘cocked-wah’ sound is great for cutting through a band mix and adding presence to your lead guitar tone, as anyone who’s heard Slash, Frank Zappa or Michael Schenker can tell you,” said Rob Urry, vice president, HARMAN Professional Division and general manager of Signal Processing and Amplifier Business Units. “However, it can be very tricky to do this consistently as you have to find the pedal’s sweet spot and keep it there. The Freeze Wah lets players get the exact fixed-wah sound they want, every time.”

The DigiTech Freeze Wah features knobs for Position, which sets the sweet spot “pedal position” of the wah, Q, which controls the frequency bandwidth of the effect, and Boost, which adjusts the boost level of the effect. By manipulating these three knobs, a wide variety of fixed-wah effects can be obtained

The DigiTech iStomp is an entirely new concept in guitar stompboxes that allows musicians to turn the iStomp into any pedal in the Stomp Shop online pedal store. Offering almost limitless sonic possibilities, the iStomp connects to an Apple iOS device where musicians can use the Stomp Shop app to load it with the e-pedal of their choice.
DigiTech “Stomp-tember 2012” Continues With the Introduction of Its Snake Charmer Tremolo for the iStomp™ Downloadable Pedal

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – HARMAN’s DigiTech “Stomp-tember 2012” is in full swing with the introduction of the new Snake Charmer Tremolo for iStomp users. The Snake Charmer Tremolo delivers that classic, pulsating volume-modulated guitar sound heard on records like The Smiths’ “How Soon Is Now”, Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Born on the Bayou,” the Black Keys’ “Howlin’ for You” and countless other hits.

“Tremolo is a guitar effect that all guitarists know and love,” noted Rob Urry, vice president, HARMAN Professional Division and general manager of Signal Processing and Amplifier Business Units. “The DigiTech Snake Charmer Tremolo gives every player access to this simple yet expressive effect, which can really take a song’s groove and feel to another level.”

The DigiTech Snake Charmer Tremolo gives guitarists complete control over every aspect of the tremolo effect. The Speed control regulates how slow or fast the tremolo pulsates, from a slow throb to a fast oscillation. Depth controls the degree of the effect, from a subtle modulation to volume completely on and off. Waveform changes the “shape” of the tremolo sound, from a choppy square wave on and off to a smoother pulsating sine wave and many other variations. It can even be turned into a panner using the exclusive Spread knob.

The Stomp Shop is a free app and comes with two of the most popular requested pedals, the DigiTech Total Recall Delay™ and the DigiTech Redline Overdrive™. It gives access to more than 30 additional pedals that musicians can browse, try out and purchase, with more pedals added every month.

The DigiTech Snake Charmer Tremolo e-pedal will be available in September 2012 at an introductory price of $0.99. This introductory price will run through September 31, 2012. After the introductory period the price will change to $7.99.

The DigiTech iStomp is currently available at $179.95 suggested retail.

DigiTech Introduces Its Unplugged Acoustic Simulator for the iStomp™ Downloadable Pedal

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – HARMAN’s DigiTech is celebrating “Stomp-tember 2012” with the release of its new Unplugged Acoustic Simulator for the iStomp downloadable stompbox. The Unplugged Acoustic Simulator transforms an electric guitar to sound like an acoustic guitar, and includes built-in Lexicon® Hall reverb to add fullness and presence to the acoustic guitar sound.

“Many guitarists have to switch between electric and acoustic guitars during their set or rehearsals, which means they have to carry two guitars and all the related gear,” said Rob Urry, vice president, HARMAN Professional Division and general manager of Signal Processing and Amplifier Business Units. “Sometimes this can be impractical, especially if the musician has to change guitars quickly or if space onstage is limited. The DigiTech Unplugged Acoustic Simulator is the perfect solution – it gives guitarists an easy, affordable way to go from electric to a rich, authentic acoustic guitar sound in an instant.”

The Unplugged Acoustic Simulator uses proprietary Harman-developed DSP algorithms to analyze and process the input from an electric guitar and transform it into the sonic signature of an acoustic guitar, with all of its distinctive acoustic timbres, harmonic complexity and dynamic responsiveness. The acoustic ambience can be further enhanced by dialing in the e-pedal’s Lexicon Hall reverb – the classic lush, expansive reverb heard on thousands of recordings. Adding to its sonic spaciousness, the Unplugged Acoustic Simulator features true stereo inputs and outputs. Its controls include LOW EQ, HIGH EQ, REVERB (reverb level) and LEVEL (effect level).

The DigiTech iStomp is an entirely new concept in guitar stompboxes that allows musicians to turn the iStomp into any pedal in the Stomp Shop online pedal store.
DigiTech Introduces Its Double Cross Delay For iStomp Downloadable Pedal

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – DigiTech today introduced Double Cross Delay, the newest e-pedal for the iStomp downloadable pedal. The Double Cross Delay is a unique two-second dual delay that produces alternating delay repeats between the pedal's two outputs. With the pedal’s Spread knob set at 12 o'clock, the Double Cross provides a classic Ping-Pong delay effect. At extreme settings, the Double Cross creates rhythmic echoes that will give your playing a distinctive sound.

The pedal’s time control provides a player the capability to adjust the delay time from 20ms to 2 seconds. When Tap Tempo is enabled, this knob will change the delay multiplier. Regen, Spread and Level knobs allow for adjustment to the number of delay repeats, the panning ratio of the repeats and the output level of the effect.

“The Double Cross Delay is unique in our e-pedal lineup because it takes advantage of the iStomp’s stereo outputs to produce a unique ping pong effect you can’t get from a traditional delay pedal,” stated Rob Urry, vice president, HARMAN Professional Division and general manager of Signal Processing and Amplifier Business Units.

The DigiTech Double Cross Delay e-pedal will be available immediately at an introductory price of $0.99. This introductory price will run through August 31, 2012. After the introductory period the price will change to $7.99.

The DigiTech iStomp is an entirely new concept in guitar stompboxes that allows musicians to turn the iStomp into any pedal in the Stomp Shop online pedal store.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – HARMAN DigiTech continues to expand its pedal selection for the iStomp downloadable stompbox with the addition of the Half-Pipe Overdrive, a downloadable e-pedal that pays homage to the skate-punk bands of the ‘80s and ‘90s with its in-your-face sonic attitude.
DigiTech Adds Its New Strato Boost To The Stomp Shop For Its iStomp Downloadable Pedal

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Everyone needs a boost now and then, and guitarists are no exception, which is why HARMAN’s DigiTech now offers its Strato Boost pedal for the iStomp downloadable stompbox. The Strato Boost is a single-knob clean boost that gives a guitar signal up to an additional 24dB of clean gain, for an instant volume increase or to push the front end of an amp for overdrive.

Like all new DigiTech iStomp e-pedals, the Strato Boost will be available at a special introductory price of just 99 cents for its first month of availability. Recognizing that guitarists are ever seeking new sounds, DigiTech will introduce two new iStomp pedals every month.

“The Strato Boost is great for pushing the preamp section of an amplifier into overdrive, from a mild growl to singing sustain,” said Rob Urry, vice president, HARMAN Professional Division and general manager of Signal Processing and Amplifier Business Units. “In addition, the Strato Boost makes it easy to get the amount of volume increase they need at the stomp of a switch. Every guitar player needs to be able to quickly switch between normal and solo volume.”

The Strato Boost offers up to 24dB of clean boost via its Trajectory knob. It’s designed to maintain the sonic transparency and distinctive tonal character of whatever guitar it’s used with – unless the player deliberately wants to deliberately overdrive the front end of his or her amp.

The DigiTech Strato Boost e-pedal will be available July 1, 2012 at an introductory price of $0.99. This introductory price will run through July 31, 2012.
DigiTech Next-Generation Whammy with Chordal Pitch-Shifting is Now Available in Stores

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – HARMAN’s DigiTech today announced its next-generation Whammy pedal, featuring chordal Whammy pitch-shifting, additional Whammy intervals and true bypass operation is now available at music stores around the globe. The new Whammy retains the legendary Whammy sound that made it one of the most iconic pedals recognized by guitarists around the world, while adding never-before-available sonic capabilities.

“Guitarists worldwide have embraced the original Whammy and now our new Whammy’s chord-shifting and classic pitch-bending modes make it one of the most musically expressive pedals ever,” said Rob Urry, vice president, HARMAN Professional Division and general manager of Signal Processing and Amplifier Business Units. “We’re really excited about the many creative sounds that this pedal brings to artists, and a number of pros have already adopted the new Whammy as an integral part of their tone.”

The Whammy lets guitar and bass players raise and lower their tuning by up to two octaves, to create pitch shifts from subtle to extreme and dramatic musical effects not possible with any other pedal. The Whammy now incorporates new pitch-shifting technologies that enable the player to bend entire chords up or down while keeping all the notes in the chord perfectly in tune. The Whammy also keeps its signature Classic single-note mode that has made the pedal one of the most recognizable in rock and contemporary music, along with nine Harmony two-note interval settings and two Detune modes.

Offering true bypass means that the signal from the guitar is completely unaffected by the Whammy when it’s switched off, maintaining all the purity of the guitar signal when the player doesn’t want anything altering his or her sound. This can be especially important when using a lot of pedals on a pedalboard. The Whammy won’t alter your sound – until you want it to!

The Whammy also includes 1/4-inch inputs and outputs, a MIDI input that allows control of the pedal from an external MIDI device, and a 9-volt DC power input. The Whammy employs high-quality 24-bit/96kHz analog-to-digital and digital-to analog converters for clean, smooth pitch-bending sound. An on/off switch engages and disengages the Whammy effect, and a “Classic/Chords” switch lets players select either mode. The Whammy is built to withstand the rigors of the road, with a rugged all-metal chassis, pedal and footswitch with a bold “Whammy” logo proudly displayed.

The DigiTech Whammy is currently available at $299.95 MSRP.

Australian Guitar Star Brett Garsed Fuels His Flowing Style With DigiTech Whammy DT Pedal, RP1000 and RP500 Multi-Effects

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Brett Garsed is one of the best guitarists to come out of Australia. Currently playing in the show band for Australia’s Dancing With the Stars, Garsed and his DigiTech pedals are heard by more than two million TV viewers every week. Garsed is known for his unique, fluent slide guitar style and use of wide intervals and a chromatic rather than scalar approach to improvisations.

Garsed uses his DigiTech Whammy DT pedal and RP1000 and RP500 multi-effects units constantly live and in the studio. “The Whammy DT is not only a wonderful expressive tool, it’s a lifesaver in live performance. I can use it to modify my tuning without having to change guitars, which is especially useful during TV shows like Dancing With the Stars where the atmosphere is pretty frantic and you sometimes have only seconds to change your settings between songs.”

The Whammy DT gives guitarists a wide array of pitch-shifting and drop-tuning effects. It can drop down or capo up four steps and delivers stunning octave and two-octave up and down bends, harmony bend modes and more. “The Drop Tune feature is flawless and tracks perfectly – I love it,” noted Garsed. “The Whammy DT can really expand your sonic palette and the sounds you can get from your guitar. Its momentary footswitch lets me create hammer-on and pull-off effects that really complement my left-hand techniques. Basically, I don’t leave home without this pedal.”

For live performances Garsed also makes use of multiple pedals in DigiTech’s RP series. “I really like the RP1000 and RP500 multi-effects for their versatility, range of great sounds and the fact that they’re built like tanks.” The RP1000 and RP500 combine the flexibility of a programmable multi-effects unit with simple stompbox operation. They offer access to more than 125 effects (160 for the RP1000) including distortion, fuzz, chorus, delay, reverb, compression and more, all fully user-adjustable.

“I’ve taken the RP1000 and RP500 on international tours and used them on many TV appearances, and they make it easy for me to access any sound I need,” said Garsed. “They sound incredible and I know they’re never going to let me down. I can’t tell you how much easier having every sound you want in a single unit makes gigging, instead of having to carry around big, fussy pedalboards and rack systems. In fact, now I don’t need anything else – I can do any date with just my guitar, amp, a Whammy DT and one of my RP pedals.”

New DigiTech Whammy Pedal Is Pivotal for Guitarist Jason Roberts On Norah Jones’ Little Broken Hearts Tour

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Jason Roberts, lead guitarist for Norah Jones, will be relying on the new DigiTech Whammy for Jones' upcoming tour in support of her new album, Little Broken Hearts. Roberts describes the album as "beautiful and 'heartbreaking" with some surprisingly different sounds and textures on it, which make the Whammy a great tool for recreating some of the unusual elements of the album when playing live. The new Whammy features several upgrades including a Chords mode for pitch-shifting entire chords, true bypass operation and other enhancements, while retaining all of its signature multi-octave pitch-bending and harmony effects - from subtle to extreme.

Roberts immediately knew the Whammy pedal would be of use to him when he was hired for the current tour. "Norah was really, really specific in her desire to find a guitarist and keyboard player for this tour who knew how to work with pedals and get some interesting sounds, so she definitely welcomes new toys like the new Whammy whenever we get them," stated Roberts.

"I love the Classic/Chord switch on the new Whammy that lets you go between bending individual notes and entire chords," Roberts continued. "That definitely lets me play cleaner when I'm holding out multiple notes. There are also a couple of songs on Little Broken Hearts, for example the second verse of 'Take It Back,' where there are some higher-octave guitars doing some spacey chord arpeggios. The Whammy with the Chord switch on will really make these parts stick out in a live setting. I'm also going to experiment with starting a phrase on a lower note and using the Whammy to bend the note up to pitch - I think that'll give my phrases a lot of added emotional expression."

Roberts has a long history with the Whammy and appreciates the improvements that the latest version offers. "The old Whammy was great, but the new one is much more sturdy and the pedal travel and ability to fine-tune the settings is more precise," he said. "I used to notice the old pedal would slip and I would end up having to keep my foot on it all the time. That's not an issue with the new one."

"I generally like pedals that have great sound, looks and durability," Roberts concluded. "You don't want a pedal to break when you're in the middle of a big show. For me, a pedal has to have the right vibe, so I'm glad the new Whammy looks so classic! I don't want to look down and feel like I have a space station under my feet - I want to see retro-looking pedals. I also love the fact that I can step on it pretty hard and know the pedal is going to be reliable."

HARMAN (www.harman.com) designs, manufactures and markets a wide range of audio and infotainment solutions for the automotive, consumer and professional markets - supported by 15 leading brands, including AKG(r), Harman Kardon(r), Infinity(r), JBL(r), Lexicon(r) and Mark Levinson(r).
DigiTech Introduces the Legendary Whammy(tm) with Chordal Pitch-Shifting

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - HARMAN's DigiTech today introduced its next-generation Whammy pedal, building upon one of the most iconic guitar pedals recognized by guitarists around the world. The new Whammy features the classic Whammy sound that guitarists have embraced for over 20 years, and moves to the next level by introducing chordal Whammy pitch-shifting, additional Whammy intervals, and true bypass.

For over two decades the Whammy pedal has been known as the ultimate pitch-shifting pedal in the world, used by everyone from Jimmy Page to Tom Morello and heard on songs like "Seven Nation Army" by the White Stripes. The introduction of new possibilities with the Whammy pedal reinforces its legendary status of the pitch-shifting realm.

"The release of the new Whammy is the latest chapter in the pitch-shifting revolution. Bringing together the best of the original Whammy with the latest developments offering both classic and chord shifting modes, we are giving guitarists a reason to rediscover the unrivaled tone that makes this pedal a legend in the first place," stated Rob Urry, vice president, HARMAN Professional Division and general manager of Signal Processing and Amplifier Business Units.

The Whammy lets guitar and bass players raise and lower their tuning by up to two octaves, to create pitch shifts from subtle to extreme and dramatic musical effects not possible with any other pedal.
DigiTech Launches New Spring Tank Reverb Pedal

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - DigiTech today announced that the new Spring Tank reverb pedal for the iStomp(tm) is now available from the DigiTech Stomp Shop app on iTunes. The Spring Tank pedal provides the rich spring reverb effect found in vintage amplifiers and on numerous classic and contemporary recordings. Not only does the new offering produce a rich stereo spring reverb effect, it also produces the distinctive "boing" artifact unique to spring reverb trays that guitar players have come to know and love.

While the Spring Tank reverb pedal delivers the great sound of a traditional spring reverb, it also takes the concept of a spring reverb a step farther. Unlike single knob reverb effects found in guitar amps, the Spring Tank provides four separate knobs to control Reverb level, Boing, Twang and Tone. The pedal has a cool, unusual design, morphing a traditional spring tank into the form of a classic stompbox.

The Spring Tank pedal is the 26th and latest pedal added to the Stomp Shop app for use with the iStomp downloadable pedal. The Stomp Shop debuted in January 2012 with an initial compliment of 22 pedals ranging in price from US$1.99 to US$9.99. Each month DigiTech continues to add new pedals to the pedal line to bring guitar players fresh new options. Using the digital download format of the iStomp allows DigiTech to put many new and unusual pedals into guitar players' hands vey quickly.

"This is one of many new pedals to come as we expand the iStomp pedal line. The pedals in the Stomp Shop offer a wide variety of high-quality tones and effects that musicians are looking for. The new Spring Tank pedal is no exception," stated Rob Urry, vice president, HARMAN Professional Division and general manager of Signal Processing and Amplifier Business Units.

The Spring Tank pedal is now available for only US$0.99. This special launch price will run through April 30, 2012, after which it will move to its regular price of US$9.99.

The DigiTech iStomp is an entirely new concept in guitar stompboxes that allows musicians to turn the iStomp into any pedal in the Stomp Shop. Offering almost limitless sonic possibilities, the iStomp connects to an Apple iOS device where musicians can use the Stomp Shop app to load it with the pedal of their choice. The Stomp Shop is a free app and comes with two of the most popular requested pedals, the DigiTech Total Recall(tm) digital delay and the DigiTech Redline(tm) Overdrive. It also gives access to additional pedals that musicians can browse, try out, and purchase. With the iStomp, DigiTech can deliver an ever expanding variety of great new pedals to guitar players worldwide via the Stomp Shop app.

HARMAN (www.harman.com) designs, manufactures and markets a wide range of audio and infotainment solutions for the automotive, consumer and professional markets - supported by 15 leading brands, including AKG, Harman Kardon, Infinity, JBL, Lexicon and Mark Levinson.
DigiTech Launches the New Sound-Off Pedal for the iStomp Downloadable Pedal

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - HARMAN's DigiTech announces the availability of the new Sound-Off pedal for the iStomp(tm) downloadable stompbox. DigiTech is broadening the range of the pedal line within the Stomp Shop(tm) app to now provide an easy to use utility pedal. The Sound-Off is a simple pedal that provides a momentary switch to completely shut the audio signal off when the button is pressed and brings it back when released. This on/off function allows guitarists to create a special effect similar to the pickup on/off switch found on some guitars.

"For guitarists who are looking to create a choppy effect that can be controlled at their feet, the Sound-Off is a flexible solution they can quickly add to their arsenal," stated Rob Urry, vice president, HARMAN Professional Division and general manager of Signal Processing and Amplifier Business Units, "and because we are using digital download technology, we are able to add very unique pedals like the Sound-Off in the Stomp Shop frequently."

The Sound-Off pedal is now available from the DigiTech Stomp Shop at an introductory price of only US$0.99. This special price will run through April 30, 2012. After the introductory period it will change to its regular price of US$1.99.

The DigiTech iStomp is an entirely new concept in guitar stompboxes that allows musicians to turn the iStomp into any pedal in the Stomp Shop.
California Guitar Trio’s Paul Richards Makes the Move to the DigiTech® iPB-10 Programmable Pedalboard for iPad®

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The California Guitar Trio needs no introduction to guitar aficionados – and should be on any music lover’s required listening list. Paul Richards, Bert Lams and Hideyo Moriya founded the Trio in 1991 and have since gone on to record more than a dozen albums. The California Guitar Trio tours worldwide, delighting audiences with their dazzling virtuosity, on-stage humor and eclectic blend of pop, classical, surf, jazz, world and other less-categorizable musical influences.
Guitarist Paul Richards had been using the DigiTech Whammy™, RP500 multi-effects unit and even a decades-old Echo Plus, and when the iPB-10 programmable pedalboard for iPad was introduced, he was curious to try one. The iPB-10 is the world’s first guitar multi-effects pedal designed to work with the Apple® iPad and iPad2. It docks with an iPad to deliver never-before-available touchscreen visual editing capabilities and access to an unlimited array of sounds.

“When I was a teenager, I worked at a guitar shop, so I’ve been familiar with DigiTech for more than 20 years,” Richards said. “I’ve watched them continually improve and become more innovative. I had been using another multi-effects unit onstage for many years, and I’ve tested and owned gear from a number of manufacturers. When I tried the iPB-10, I was immediately impressed by both the sound quality and the very cool, easy to use iPad interface.”

“Everything is better! Better distortions, better amp modeling, better effects, and the iPad interface is so easy to use,” Richards noted. “The same day that I got the iPB-10, I had easily figured out how to program it, and was duplicating and improving on all my sounds that I had created on my previous multi-effects unit. In fact, I had the iPB-10 ready for our live show that night.”

“The sound quality of the iPB-10 is phenomenal. The amp modeling is the best I’ve ever used. Every night we play in different types of venues – it could be a rock club, jazz club, church, theater or arts center – with a different sound system every night. It is absolutely critical for me to have a great-sounding effects unit that works in every kind of live setting.”

“After the first show that I played with the iPB-10, I knew that the unit sounded great and was going to work well,” Richards said. “Over the course of the rest of the tour, I was impressed with how good it sounded night after night. There’s an original tune of ours called ‘Andromeda,’ where I’m playing a heavy guitar riff with quite a bit of distortion. I found a great setting on the iPB-10 using one of the amp models. A couple of weeks ago we did a show with our friends in the Montreal Guitar Trio, who we had done quite a few shows with before. When they heard my new sound on ‘Andromeda’ using my iPB-10, they commented on how much better it sounded, and became very interested in my iPB-10!”

“The iPB-10 is super-easy to use on stage,” Richards pointed out. “It’s by far the easiest multi-effects unit I have ever used. With the iPad interface, it’s very much like having real amps and effects pedal boards all at my fingertips, in one small unit. Instead of having to access menus or go into parameter pages to make changes, everything that I need is accessible with a touch on the screen or a click of a button, just like real amps and pedals.”

“In my home studio, I’ve been having a lot of fun creating new sounds using the huge variety of amps and effects available in the iPB-10. I can’t say enough about how easy this unit is to program and how easy it is to tweak sounds with the iPad interface.”

For more information about the California Guitar Trio please visit www.cgtrio.com.

HARMAN (www.harman.com) designs, manufactures and markets a wide range of audio and infotainment solutions for the automotive, consumer and professional markets — supported by 15 leading brands, including AKG, Harman Kardon, Infinity, JBL, Lexicon and Mark Levinson.
DigiTech Introduces The iStomp: The World’s First Effects Pedal That Can Be Programmed With Any Sound

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – DigiTech today announced the introduction of the iStomp pedal, an entirely new concept in guitar stompboxes that allows musicians to program the effect pedal with any sound they want – and change it at any time. Offering almost limitless sonic possibilities, the iStomp connects to an iPod Touch®, iPhone®, or iPad® enabling musicians to load the effect of their choice into the iStomp.

“The iStomp ushers in a new era in effects pedal functionality,” said Rob Urry, vice president, HARMAN Professional Division and general manager of Signal Processing and Amplifier Business Units. “Until now, guitarists and musicians had to buy a separate pedal for each effect they wanted and a separate pedal for different tones of the same effect. Now, musicians can buy an iStomp and configure an effect exactly the way they want, and later, they can simply download a different tone of that same effect or download an entirely different effect if they want to try something new.”

The iStomp pedal connects to an Apple iOS device using the DigiTech Smart Cable that comes with the iStomp. Once connected, the DigiTech StompShop provides two of the most popular requested effects, the DigiTech Total Recall Delay and the DigiTech Redline Overdrive with the initial purchase. The app also offers access to additional effects that iStomp owners can browse, try out, and purchase for their stompbox. The iStomp pedal has four knobs to control effects parameters, which change their function according to which effect is loaded.

iStomp makes trying out new sounds easier than ever. Any guitarist can try any pedal from the Stomp Shop for free for up to 5 minutes – in their own home, using their own guitar and amp. Approximately 24 pedals will be offered initially, and the selection will expand to include exclusive pedals from DigiTech, officially licensed pedals from other manufacturers and classic legacy DigiTech and DOD products.

Every musician wants to create his or her signature sound, and many buy, sell and trade pedals constantly in their quest for the ultimate tone. With iStomp, users simply pay the cost of a download if they want to get something new. Multiple iStomp pedals can be authorized to the same iTunes account, allowing customers to purchase an effect once from the in-app store, and then load it into any iStomp pedal registered to them. All purchases are saved within the app, making it easy to build up a wide ranging effects collection.

The DigiTech iStomp will begin shipping in January 2012 at $229.95 suggested retail. The iStomp pedal comes with an iOS authorization cable, power supply and the two initial downloads. Additional downloads are available starting at $4.99 each.

HardWire HT6 FastTuneTuner App Turns an iPod®, iPhone® or iPad® Into a Polyphonic Tuner

ANAHEIM, California – HARMAN’s HardWire™ today announced the introduction of its HT6 FastTune Tuner app for iPod, iPhone and iPad. The HT6 FastTune app enables those devices to function as a polyphonic tuner, letting guitar and bass players tune all their strings at once.

The HT6 FastTune Tuner app is based on the popular HardWire HT-6 Polyphonic Tuner floor pedal, which makes tuning instruments faster and easier by allowing the musician to simply strum all the strings at once, and view the display to see which strings are in or out of tune. The app works using the iPod, iPhone or iPad mic input, and it can also operate by plugging an instrument into the device’s headphone input or 30-pin connection. The FastTune app can be used with a guitar or four, five or six string bass.

The HT6 FastTune Tuner app provides an immediate visual indication of which strings are in tune, sharp or flat, and its display can be set to either polyphonic mode, or chromatic tuning mode if desired. The app offers automatic capo detection – it senses if a guitarist has a capo on the neck and adjusts the display to tune to the correct chord. Adding to its appeal, the app offers a Drop-D tuning mode for users of this popular alternate setting.

“The HardWire HT6 FastTune Tuner app is the most advanced guitar and bass tuning app available for any mobile device,” noted Rob Urry, vice president and GM, Harman Signal Processing. “It makes the same industry-leading chord recognition technology found in our HT-6 Polyphonic Tuner pedal available to any iOS device, for super-fast, accurate, on-the-go tuning.”

The HardWire HT6 FastTune app for iOS will be available in February 2012 from the iTunes Store® at a suggested retail price of $4.99.
