DIGITECH® LAUNCHES FLAGSHIP HARDWIRE™ EXTREME PERFORMANCE PEDAL LINE

— DigiTech’s new HardWire™ pedals feature True Bypass and High Voltage Operation technology and establish a new benchmark in single-pedal design for the professional guitarist with innovative, rugged construction —
Salt Lake City, Utah, June 20, 2008 — DigiTech®, a leading manufacturer of guitar signal processors, and a Harman International company (NYSE-HAR), ushers in a new class of guitar and bass pedals by launching its new flagship HardWire™ extreme performance pedal line. Designed for the professional guitarist or bassist who demands the highest quality pedal effects with unmatched tone, durability and performance, the new HardWire series consists of the following seven pedals: Valve Distortion, Metal Distortion, Stereo Chorus, Delay Looper, Stereo Reverb, Chromatic Tuner and Tube Overdrive. Housed in a durable, roadworthy chassis and boasting a higher quality of materials than standard pedals, each unit features True Bypass and High Voltage Operation technology. The 100% accurate True Bypass ensures that when an effect is off, the signal passes straight through without creating undesirable noise or alteration of tone color; the pedals’ High Voltage Operation eliminates clipping, boosts voltage “headroom” and enhances performance throughout a battery’s entire life span, ensuring that each pedal performs flawlessly from soundcheck to final bow. With such features and construction, the HardWire series yields the ultimate in single-pedal design for even the most discriminating player.
To ensure accurate and precise settings, HardWire pedals feature wide, stage-stable footprints, custom machined metal knobs and precision potentiometers. In addition, they feature patented StompLock™ security covers, anti-skid pads, Velcro pedal-board mounting pads and high visibility glow-in-the-dark actuator labels. Built at DigiTech’s state-of-the-art design and manufacturing facility in Salt Lake City, Utah, the HardWire series is perfect for the guitarist looking to step-up to a professional pedal that will complement an authentic amp-derived sound.
The HardWire feature set includes:
- True bypass for uncolored/direct tone and dependable signal flow even when the battery is disconnected or low
- High voltage operation for consistent voltage and more headroom, eliminating signal clipping when used with “hot” pickups, with effects or in FX loops, without coloring the tone
- 1/4" Stereo In & Out (Select models where appropriate)
- HardWire Valve Distortion pedal features 2-position crunch/scoop voicing switch and level, gain, low and high tone controls, letting players capture the full spectrum from classic rock crunch to modern high-gain sounds.
- HardWire Metal Distortion pedal also features 2-position crunch/scoop voicing switch and level, gain, low and high tone controls, as well as a tight/loose switch to control the “tightness” of the low end and adjust the mid-range frequency to provide the best overall tone, making possible the whole range of metal sounds, from a tight low-end and a crunching top, to a low-throaty roar with sizzling high end.
- HardWire Stereo Chorus pedal offers seven chorus types, from Multivoice and Studio to Vintage and Boutique and more. Precision controls include speed, depth, level and chorus type.
- HardWire Delay Looper pedal features stereo I/O with selectable tails; 11 delay types and 7 delay algorithms, including Analog, LoFi, Tape and Reverse; eight seconds of stereo delay and 20 seconds of stereo looping; and tails on/off switch located underneath the actuator.
- HardWire Stereo Reverb pedal has Lexicon® licensed reverbs, including Room, Plate, Reverse, Spring, Modulated, Gated, Hall, etc., as well as Liveliness Control.
- HardWire Chromatic Tuner has extreme accuracy and easy-to-read LED indicators, as well as multiple tuning references.
- HardWire Tube Overdrive pedal has a Classic/Modified option to switch between classic overdrive circuitry for a smooth overdriven tube sound to a fatter hot rodded tone with extra gain. Low and High tone controls open up endless sonic possibilities, letting players add a little gain in front of a clean combo or just some boost into a distorted tube head.
- All pedals use either 9-volt battery or optional power adapter
The new HardWire pedal line will be available in 2008 from an authorized DigiTech dealer. For more information, please visit
