This page outlines how to download both NetUpdater to update your RP’s firmware and how to download and install X-Edit™ Editor/Librarian 2 software.
The current firmware version for the RP250 is 2.0. If your RP has an earlier version, it is recommended you update to the latest firmware to ensure your box is current with the latest factory firmware release. It may also be necessary to update your firmware in order to use the X-Edit 2 Editor/Librarian software.
Checking your RP’s firmware version
To check the firmware version in your RP, cycle the power.
During power up the RP250 will show the following displays with the X.X number being the firmware version currently installed:
*.NET 2.0 will be downloaded and installed during installation of X-Edit 2 software if required. .NET 2.0 can also be downloaded from Microsoft’s web site here.
Windows is a registered trademark of Microsoft Corporation in the United States and other countries.
Step 2: Install USB Drivers
After downloading the files, first launch the rp250driverinstaller.exe by double-clicking on its icon. Follow the on-screen instructions for installing the USB drivers. Once installed, you may now use your RP with ASIO compatible computer recording software.
Updating your firmware requires the RP to perform a factory reset to complete. A factory reset will erase all user presets from memory. It is recommended that you backup all your presets using the X-Edit Editor/Librarian backup utility before starting the update procedure.
Once the updater has finished, a Factory Reset will automatically take place erasing all User presets. You will then need to calibrate your expression pedal as follows:

Once you have successfully updated your RP, launch the XEdit241setup.exe file by double-clicking on its icon and follow the on-screen instructions to install the X-Edit 2 Editor/Librarian software. If you are using a previous version of X-Edit with another DigiTech product, X-Edit 2 will install alongside this version. X-Edit 2 only works with the new RP series.
Using USB Mix and USB Level controls
Once you have the drivers installed and your RP is connected to your computer via USB, there are two parameters that become available in the Edit Matrix that control audio direct/playback mix and record level.
USB Mix
This parameter lets you control the mix between the direct output of your RP with the playback from your computer’s recording software. To change this mix, follow these steps:
1. Have the RP powered up and connected to your computer with a USB cable.
2. Press the Edit Down button until the PICKUP row LED is lit.
3. Turn the Effects Library knob to adjust the direct/playback mix. Turning the knob clockwise will decrease the output of the RP while turning this knob counter-clockwise will decrease the playback level from your computer. On the RP150, a 50/50 mix is represented as 50 in the display.
USB Level
This parameter lets you control the USB recording level the RP sends to your computer recording application. The range is -12dB - +24dB. Changing this level from 0dB will affect the playback level from the computer. This can be compensated for using the Direct/Playback mix control. To change the USB Record Level, follow these steps:
1. Have the RP powered up and connected to your computer with a USB cable.
2. Press the Edit Down button until the PICKUP row LED is lit.
3. Turn the Effects Level knob to adjust the USB Record level. Turing the knob clockwise will increase the output level to your recording application while turning this knob counter-clockwise will decrease this level.
Both the Direct/Playback and USB Record level controls are also available in the X-Edit Software by clicking the Audio Setup arrow at the bottom of the editor panel. USB must be connected to access these controls on the RP.
